They say you shouldn't push your luck. Max gives her own luck a massive shove every day and it's only a matter of time until luck pushes back... January 1536 - the day of Henry VIII's infamous jousting accident. Historians from St Mary's are there in force, recording and documenting. And, arguing -obviously. A chance meeting between Max and the Time Police leads to a plan of action. And, it's one that will have very serious consequences especially for Max. Her private life is already more than a little rocky. But with Leon recovering and Matthew safe in the future there will never be a better opportunity to bring down Clive Ronan, once and for all. From Tudor England to the burning city of Persepolis - and from a medieval siege to a very nasty case of 19th century incarceration - Max is determined that this time, he will not escape.

  • Kidnapped by Ronan. He disables her tags, and gives her to two men, telling them to kill her somewhere, somewhen. Max is nice to them, they don't kill her, but leave her at St. Mary's, Spring 1399. She almost gets engaged to William Henry. Nearly a year later, the two men who were supposed to kill her, injured, return for her and take her home. She realizes that she never found out when and where her first jump was.
  • Max and Leon jump back to October 1400, where they mercy-kill William Hendred
  • Historians Cox, Prentiss, and Clerk return from a jump having had an irreparable conflict
  • Leon, Peterson, and Max go back to reenact their mission to investigate what happened, Rushford late July 1815, post Waterloo Celebrations. Max is jailed for theft, rescued by the guys, and is too ill to take back to St. Mary's. She hallucinates, the guys fight, and she finds a drug dispenser in the pod, responsible for both sets of historians' fights
  • Max has time off, decides to wash Matthew's teddy, which he received from Miss Dottle. Finds a short-range recording device. Organizes the capture of Dottle, and comes in conflict with Ronan, who has been hiding on the roof all this time. Dottle killed by Ronan, Max gets shot and broken from fall off roof.
  • Max determines that she must take the Ronan situation in hand on her own.
